Very busy place due to fog in Zug and sunshine at Raten/Gottschalkenberg during Wednesday early afternoon. Excellent service, tasty food.
Overlooking rolling hills all the way through to snow covered Swiss mountains, this restaurant is the hub of the surrounding areas, and a great place to stop if you’re passing through from a hike or detoured on a small drive. There is ample seating indoor and out, although it is quite popular during peak times. We had tea and croissants one day, and came back for lunch the next. A good mix of standard Swiss fare. Next to the dining area is a small, but we’ll equipped kids play area. Enough to keep kids occupied for a bit while relaxing and before wandering off on a hike or cycling. If you have eBikes, there is also a charging spot.
The restaurant is very cozy with very good food. Good seasonal variations. Possibility of hike in Summers. Desserts are of good quality. Highly recommended!
