Restaurant Bürgis Kathi's Schmankerl : Ammerswilerstrasse 1, 5704 Egliswil

It was our first time in this restaurant, we heard good reviews, but the reality exceeded our expectations. A fine meal also includes a beautifully set table. It was beautifully presented: with a tablecloth , beautiful glasses and decorative elements for Easter. And then there is something nice to eat. My husband said the Wiener Schnitzel tastes better than in Austria. ☺️ Homemade dessert - chocolate mousse was fantastic, very airy, the combination with fresh fruits is delicious. Everything was delicious. And very important and much appreciated: we were warmly welcomed and very well served. We'd love to come back. Recommended.

Anyone who finds their way to Kathi's Schmankerl quickly realizes that this isn't primarily a restaurant, but rather a meal with good friends. We've always been greeted warmly and friendly. The service is extremely pleasant, just like with friends. Her cooking skills are a dream. As is customary with friends, Kathi lets you watch the preparation of, for example, the beef stroganoff live at the table. It's a delight to see her explaining to her attentive guests what, how, and why she's doing it. It culminates in the flambéing of the dish. The passion and skill can be sensed, felt, and tasted on the palate. Of course, there are many other delicious delicacies as well. The ambiance and the relaxed, cheerful, friendly, and direct manner make it difficult for us to leave these dear friends. But Kathi, we always enjoy coming back and are always happy to make the long journey. See you soon, Michi & Maja
