Gaststube Adler : Marktstrasse 5, 5630 Muri

We have visited this place several times now after the remodelation. Service staff is friendly and attentive. The food is good, Hamburger and Hotdog have been the best things of the menu. Open wine selection can definitely be better. Very good beer selection. They have good coffee. The menus during midday unfortunately do sometimes leave one wishing for a bit more taste. Overall the place has potential.

To celebrate our wedding anniversary, we treated ourselves to a fine meal in a cozy atmosphere. The menu sounded promising, with some of the hotel's own creations. The dishes were presented beautifully and with a completely new interpretation. The meat was superbly tender and cooked to perfection, and the side dishes were a harmonious combination of sweet and sour flavors. A true treat for the palate! A particular highlight is the open, visible kitchen. Unfortunately, I sat with my back to the kitchen and couldn't watch what was going on. I'll probably sit the other way next time. The staff were polite and accommodating, but not intrusive.

We ended up here at the Caspar/Adler by chance. It was a real hit! The staff is very friendly, and our waiter had a lot to say about the monastery here and the one in Bolzano. So we ordered the Muri-Gries Riserva. The room was great! Brand new and very clean. Only the pillows didn't fit. The filling was always where your head wasn't. The food was excellent, but the portions could have been a bit larger. Breakfast was top-notch. All in all, an absolutely wonderful stay!
