Restaurant Alpenblick, Toggwil 5, 8706 Meilen

It was a sunny Sunday afternoon. Roast beef with potato salad is wonderful. The service was kind but totally overstrained. Our booked table wasn't ready. After having to wait 30 minutes to order drinks, we were eventually not sad when the main course came together with the starter. The wine we chose on the Manu was not available. After another 30 minutes waiting in vain to order the dessert, we finally gave up and went home for our homemade dessert. The owner or manager should have known that it's a warm sunny day and hence many guests would be expected.

Traditional simple Swiss dishes with good prices in the middle of nowhere not far from Zurich city. The Metzgete in the autumn is worth a visit.

They didn’t bring the menu for 10 minutes so we took it ourselves. Only few things from the menu were available so we picked cheese salads even though it wasn’t really what we wanted to eat. The portion was huge and everything was floating in vinegar, but fine, we got used to this here is switzerland. Even though this could be an optional thing. But nevermind. They forgot to bring my coke, and when we had already finished our salads the waitress brought us bread... Of course no one told us in advance that they’re only accepting cash so we agreed that we will pay with bank transfer later. I don’t understand how both the food and the service could be so frustrating but maybe it’s just me who should get used to this idk
