Restaurant Herrenmatt, Herrenmatt 9, 4146 Hochwald

Did a nice circular hike from Duggingen to Falkenflue . And afterwards we really deserved a good lunch in the beer garden of the Herrenmatt restaurant . We ordered a Herrenmatt Rösti and a Wild Bratwurst with Rösti. And we weren't disappointed. The very friendly service served us two delicious and plentiful lunches. Everything tasted delicious and just felt good after such a long absence from Corona. We regularly come to Switzerland from Germany to hike and were unfortunately separated from good Swiss cuisine for weeks due to the border closure. After the meal we visited the rustic restaurant and had a short chat with the friendly chef. Thanks for the good work of the Herrenmatt team. We will recommend your house.

Good, local food with quick and friendly service. Lovely views of the countryside from the terrace. In summer the fitness dishes are excellent and in winter you just have to try the local venison and wild boar.

Beatifil views of Basel on a clear day! Fabulous restuarant with healthy food and plenty to drink. Awesime venue for outdoor people.
