We recently visited the Gasthaus zur Sonne in Frankenwinheim again. I've been here several times and know that the food is generally very good. This time I opted for the Sauerbraten with dumplings and red cabbage, which wasn't quite to my taste. The soup could have been a little hotter. From experience, I can say that other dishes I've tried here were significantly better. For this reason, I'm giving it a solid 4 stars. The service was friendly and attentive, as always, and the atmosphere in the inn is pleasant.

A quaint inn with friendly, welcoming staff. The owner personally attends to the guests' well-being (which can sometimes take a while). The food was hot and delicious, somewhat carelessly presented, but the roast pork was delicious. We were there on a Sunday and had pre-ordered. The room was moderately busy and quite loud, but we could still have a conversation. The service was attentive, but some people confused roast pork with sauerbraten. The fact that you can only pay in cash is also outdated. All in all, we would come back, as the price-performance ratio is really fair.

It was okay there because the service was always attentive, but unfortunately it seemed chaotic and not structured at all. Long waiting times! The selection of dishes and the dishes themselves are average at best. The restaurant is not expensive. Ambience stuck in the last millennium - not bad, but worn out.
