There’s something about authentic Chinese and the reward it brings as you stumble back to your hotel from all-day drinking during the Oktoberfest holiday. The satisfaction gained by the quiet, peaceful ambiance and the first bite of crispy duck in sweet and sour sauce. The zen and tranquility this place provides is just what is needed. The fact that the owners son, Kev, runs around and handles the whole operation like a champ makes that much more special. I know after going to Germany I’ll be back for the Asian cuisine.
Who would have expected such an authentic and amazing chinese restaurant in the remote outskirts of Munich. We were staying at the Courtyard just a few minutes away as a quick overnight on our trip. We stumbled upon this restaurant and decided to give them a try. It wasn't crowded at all when we arrived and the owners sat us immediately and came by to chat with us. They had immigrated from China decades ago and set-up shop in this small town, which was very much the opposite of urban cities in China. They loved the pace and quality of life here and I really envy them that tranquility. They were very happy to cook some food up off menu to our taste and served us some garlic vegetables that were difficult to get in Germany as they were considered somewhat exotic. The main dishes were excellent and delicious and we devoured them. The only complaint I would have is with the hot and sour soup which was served in kind of a tomato based broth and maybe suited the German palate a lot better. It wasn't bad but not very traditional in any sense I know. Overall this was a gem of a find and would happily return if we're in the area again. Pay them a visit if you're hankering for some good Chinese food.
Best Chinese cuisine in Neugilching, Munich Germany. Great atmosphere and service.
