The Mager Brewery and Restaurant in Pottenstein offers homemade beer from its own brewery and accompanying food. The dining room has a flair from the early 1990s, and the terrace invites you to eat outside, but it seems very unloved and even cluttered in the details. The service was friendly and super-fast, which really left a positive impression. The beer was generally tasty, too. I'd give it a C+ in school grades. However, the food was mediocre – the homemade potato salad was good, and the breading of the Wiener schnitzel was also well prepared. However, the meat in general, especially the Sauerbraten, seemed like it was the cheapest of the bunch. The Sauerbraten was extremely tough and almost impossible to cut. Apparently, this is a recurring problem, judging by other reviews. So, I can't recommend this place. We probably won't be coming here again. Which is a real shame, because Pottenstein now has one less restaurant to recommend.

We really enjoyed the beer here, one of the best I like. Especially the dark beer. The food was delicious. The service was really fast and friendly. And the prices were really great.

If you love Franconian cuisine, you've come to the right place 👍👍! In the rustic restaurant you eat like at grandma's. Excellent, down-to-earth and honest cuisine. The meat is tender and melts in your mouth, the crust is crispy, what more could you want! Just this much... the next day we went there to eat again, we liked it so much 😋 You won't make a mistake here, we'll happily do it again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
