The Inn is clean, well maintained and the personal is friendly. The only drawback (or advantage, depending on who you are) is no Wifi and no phone reception whatsoever. The surrounding and hiking opportunities are great. Can recommend!

Just back from a 3 night stay here. This hotel has the feel of a hunting lodge. Very clean and comfortable with good sized rooms but basic. Food was very good, tasty and well cooked. I'm looking forward to my next visit. Word of warning, hotel doesn't take credit/debit cards so take cash or bank transfer (but no Internet!).

A friend invited me to dinner. I let myself be surprised and we ended up in this old inn far away from the tourist crowds. The restaurant with the hunting trophies on the walls is certainly not to everyone's taste, but you have to consider where you are. The menu is small, but offers enough choice. I had a pork schnitzel and my friend had a trout. It was a really big specimen and my schnitzel wasn't undersized either. Both and the drinks at absolutely reasonable prices. I don't understand where the comment "overpriced" came from 9 months ago. The writer should perhaps continue to eat at his local diner. The two sisters in the kitchen and service are a great team and are up for a little joke. In any case, it was quite entertaining. Please note: You are “in the middle of nowhere” and therefore there is no mobile phone service in this valley. No vehicle came towards us on the way from Hafenlohr and only one on the way back. Be especially careful in game enclosures. On the return journey at dusk, streams with their young ones crossed the road at less than 500 m 2 . If I come to the area again: I'd be happy to do it again :-)
