Although the menu is relatively small, an additional four main courses are offered every evening. On the one hand I had the Wiener Schnitzel and on the other hand a sea bream. Both were very tasty and the portions were large. We'll be back.
Breakfast was one of the best I've ever had in a hotel. There was a huge selection of breads, spreads, hot dishes, salads and side dishes, cereals and fresh fruit, juices and hot drinks, and sweet and savory dishes. The service, as everywhere in the hotel, was very friendly. The four-course menu was unfortunately not quite as impressive, which is a bit frustrating given the price. While the first course (tuna carpaccio) was quite convincing, the food declined somewhat with each subsequent course. The second course, a hearty curry soup, was tasty but a bit too unbalanced and heavy. For the main course, you could choose between three meat dishes and one vegetarian dish (commendable). Since we, as a couple, were only able to try two dishes, this only refers to those two main courses (the fish and the duck). These two dishes were, at first glance, beautifully presented and carefully prepared. With the fish, however, it became apparent after a while that the overall composition wasn't balanced enough and the flavor was too heavy. The radish salad was a very good idea in itself, but a bit more acidity would have complemented the fish better. Likewise, a bit more spiciness in the wasabi foam would have helped make the dish more digestible. The duck dish was a bit too heavy overall, with the terrine, the purée, the fatty, heavy duck, and the sweet sauce. While the front part of the duck was wonderfully pink and not too fatty, the two back parts were a bit too cooked. I would have had a hard time finishing even half of it, and the whole thing felt very heavy in my stomach afterwards. Dessert, on the other hand, was truly delicious and better balanced, although it was a bit difficult to finish, as I was already quite full after the last two courses. A multi-course meal is a particularly great experience when all the dishes are coordinated and work together without leaving you feeling overstuffed. Overall, the Quellenrestaurant is a very pleasant experience and worth a visit. If the course menu is even more well-rounded and balanced next time, I will be very happy.
Dear Brother, As if carried by the wind, I rode into the Quellen Restaurant, which rests majestically in the Hotel Therme Bad zu Teinach. Every element, from the deep wood accents to the floor-to-ceiling windows, exuded peace and comfort, as if they had emerged from a delicate pastel painting. Upon entry, I was greeted by a warm welcome of hospitality, followed by an invitation to a four-course meal that the head chef promised would be a feast for the senses. And oh, how true his words were! The soup, rich yet subtle, was like a hug on a frosty winter day in our castle. But it was the wines that truly enchanted me. Every sip promised a journey—sometimes to the sun-drenched vineyards, sometimes to the deep, cool cellars of the winemakers. The wines harmonized beautifully with every dish, and the purity and expressiveness of each bottle was a testament to the care and dedication that went into their production. I write these words with deep gratitude for the Quellenrestaurant, whose hospitality and culinary artistry are unparalleled. Should fate so decree, I would be delighted to rest in its warm embrace once again. With deepest respect, Your Ritter
