Magnificent place surrounded by greenery. Excellent food at fair prices. Very friendly and welcoming waiters. The owner sat down with us to laugh and joke and offered us some bitters. I felt at home.
We stopped here for a drink during our walk around Lake Origlio. I’m not sure if the manager was in a bad mood that day, but I wanted to leave an honest review because I will not be returning. There was a sign at the front door that showed a hand dropping something round like pellets or coins and I gave it a brief look when I entered with my family and our two dogs. It didn’t register to me that it was saying we weren’t allowed to feed our dogs inside , and as we sat to wait for someone to take our order, I gave my dog some food on the floor in her own bowl without a second thought. The man came over to us, looked at the bowel and said “did you not see the sign?” in a rude and angry manner. I then registered the sign must have meant we couldn’t feed our dogs indoor, which I’ve never experienced in any other restaurants but is completely fine, so we apologized and removed her food bowl from the floor. The manager has a right to set this rule, and I certainly feel bad for not having understood the sign immediately, but it was the rude way in which he said it to us. He might have been having a bad day, so I want to be considerate of this, and maybe he has had awful experiences with past customers and their pets, but the interaction made me want to cry. There is a kinder way to say these things to your customers. As for drinks, the coffee was not that nice and my mother in law couldn’t finish hers. We didn’t have any food so I cannot speak for that. But the experience with manager left a bitter impression on me and I will not return.
