My friend and I just went for the first time last Thursday and were very disappointed. The food was really poor, both in quality and taste. Every dish was leftover. I had to stop and get some McDonald's before going home. Other than that, the service was great. He kept asking us if we were okay because they probably noticed we weren't enjoying the food.
The setting and service were warm and welcoming, which created a pleasant first impression. Unfortunately, the quality of the food turned out to be quite inconsistent. I ordered the "Casserole" starter, which was supposed to include mussels and razor clams. The mussels had been replaced by something else because no more mussels, and the razor clams were overcooked to the point of being inedible — they had the texture of rubber bands. At CHF 28 for a starter, a gesture from the staff would have been appreciated given the poor execution. I left all the razor clams untouched, yet the server collected the plate without a word. The main course, El Chanchito, was a highlight — incredibly tender and flavorful. However, the sides (crêpes, sauces, and vegetables) were noticeably minimal for a dish meant for two people. It was impossible to enjoy the full culinary experience without having to reorder each component at an extra charge: CHF 3.50 for additional crêpes, CHF 3.00 for more sauce, and CHF 10.00 for vegetables — which, when served again, were nearly raw. For a main course priced at CHF 41 per person, charging separately for a basic refill of accompaniments felt excessive and unjustified. As for the cocktail of the day: CHF 18 for what was essentially fruit juice, ice, and a splash of alcohol. Definitely not worth the price. While a few elements were excellent, the overall experience didn’t live up to expectations — especially considering the high prices. I won’t be returning.
If I could give this restaurant more than 5 stars, I would do it! The food here is beyond delicious; each dish bursting with flavor and made with obvious passion. The staff are not only attentive and friendly but genuinely care about ensuring every guest has a memorable experience. The cozy atmosphere adds to the charm, making it feel like a hidden gem! My evening here felt like a culinary journey back to Peru, and I can't wait to return for another unforgettable meal. Thank you again Terrenal Team :)
