The view is the sole worthy thing about this place. I highly recommend you come for a glass of juice or a drink and to look out onto the lake, because the food is *disgusting* and the service is absolutely terrible. The waiters ranged from ignoring us to downright being rude, not to speak of the restaurant manager who was pushy, annoyed and harassed me to explain why the brunch wasn’t up to my standards. I’m posting pictures so I’m sure anyone with eyes can see how this is not a 5-star hotel brunch by any measure but I guess restaurant-manager man is unable to see his faults. This is not worth the money it costs, I can’t stress this enough. The variety of food was very poor, the quality was terrible but most of all the presentation was abysmal. Nothing was replenished, we arrived around 2:00pm and the “variety of French pastries” has 4 old croissants and nothing else. The dim sum was old and only had 2 pieces left and looked, frankly, repulsive. The only thing that was good was the orange juice but as you can see in the pictures that was also empty. Truly embarrassing for them, and the fact that he made it like it was a huge favour to *only* charge us 98CHF is the worst ending to this brunch.
I chose Le Mirador to celebrate my birthday. It was mentioned in the reservation I made and I was very disappointed that there was no attention at all paid to this. A glass of Prosecco might be too much asking but a candle, or just a happy birthday from our waiter would have been appreciated. A birthday is always special and I chose a place which I thought would be special being a 5-star hotel but I was wrong. Thankfully the food was pretty good but I was expecting more from such an establishment. Also on that day it was unexpectedly snowing and I asked at Reception if we could get a lift to the funicular which in normal conditions we could have walked to without any problem even though they don’t have a sidewalk but with the snow it got slippery especially since they did not clear the road properly. And we were not really equipped as we made an effort to dress smartly as indicated on the website . They declined by saying they could only do so in exceptional cases like for people with heavy luggage or elderly people…Moreover, I had a massage in the afternoon and their spa facilities are far from 5-star standards and outdated The only good thing is the view but since on that day we couldn’t see much then there was not much else to blown me away.
Le Patio is an extraordinary nice restaurant. Many points are obviously for the spectacular views, but the cuisine itself is great too! You can count at least 125 CHF per person if you share a filling meal and a bottle of wine. Tip: even the less expensive wines are still excellent wines . Only point down is for the service: we explicitly arranged it for a birthday and the promised birthday surprise wasn't taken care off. Also did the waiter change in the middle of the meal, with a longer waiting time. That was confusing.
