This is a review for the restaurant only. Got here at 2:30PM on a Friday and the only available food was a charcuterie board with a few cold cuts, half a gherkin, and 1 small piece of cheese. Ordered two of those (they were not large, see photos), some water, bread, and a coffee and we spent ~50 euros. To be honest the quality of the cold cuts was not bad, the same you find pretty much everywhere in Switzerland or Italy but felt the price was unjustified. As this is one of the first stops you find after leaving the Grand-Saint-Bernard tunnel, you’d expect more options even if slightly later than lunch hour. Overall I wouldn’t recommend, it’s best to keep going further until you find a proper town to stop.
The food is really bad and the service is awful. They asked a couple that came in after us 15 Fr for the toilet when they only wanted to change their baby and could only pay with a card.
After a long day hiking on the Via Francigena, we were delighted to find a level of hospitality and warmth surpassing the usual expectations at this charming restaurant conveniently located on the highway. Despite the location, an atmosphere of a cozy, genuine Swiss Alps homestead was maintained. We ordered the fondue and ate every delicious bite, savoring the local cheeses and the unique experience. The wine was also lovely and the salad superb. We highly recommend it and wish we could return someday.
