Don’t go to Dubai or the Canaries for some Christmas/New Year sun, go to Saas Fee in Switzerland. The terrace on the Alpenblick mountain restaurant, see photo, is sun drenched and has stunning views. Plus good food and service.

Stunning location and very friendly service. We had a casual but very tasty lunch.

Very nice place. Delicious meals. We took 4 different meals, all were perfect. Especially recommend garlic bread (Knoblauchbrot). Amazing view, and the restaurant provides binoculars. We took the Wanderweg (Carl Zuckmeier weg) in February. It was sometimes sleepery, sometimes narrow, sometimes both - so try to take poles or shoe spikes if you are coming in Winter. You also can take a cable car and go down from the top.
