Small, friendly restaurant on the main street of Alle, below the church. Very good ice cream.

TL;DR: very pleasant surprise! Coming out of our escape game, we were looking for a restaurant in the area, and decided to settle down "at the grape" (no idea of the reason behind that name). After serving us an aperitif, they bring us the menu, on a giant slate, well written. There are few dishes available (which is a good sign): from rib-eye steak to fried carp, including mixed salads. The restaurant, however, has a specialty: rösti served in a sort of "oval casserole" (sorry for my lack of vocabulary... imagine a shallow cast iron casserole dish). There are several varieties: ajoie (joie sausage and monk's head), shepherd (goat walnuts, honey), peasant (bacon, onions and egg), and nature (egg). Ideally, the quantity of potatoes could be slightly increased in order to fill the casserole (and our stomachs :)). But in any case, taste-wise, it was quite simply a real treat!! The casseroles are well supplied (except the potatoes) and well prepared. And are succulent. We will regret the absence of pastry desserts, the menu (slate) only offering ice creams. However, the ice cream sundaes are expertly composed (there is real research behind each one), and are also delicious. And then with the heat these days, it's rather nice to end on this very fresh touch. Last clarification: the coffee (which I always take with two sugars, my deepest apologies to the purists ;)) was really very very tasty, clearly one of the best I have tasted. Small downside all the same: it was long and lacked a bit of organization, BUT it didn't bother me, and in fact the owner kindly came to inquire about our satisfaction with the meal, and to apologize for this unusual delay, which is to her credit! And the waitress was also particularly kind and smiling. We ate outside (and were thus able to enjoy the cigarette smoke and the incessant ballet of the local tractors... without being unbearable either, it's surprising when you don't expect it), but the restaurant has one (maybe even two?) indoor room, very well appointed and decorated, which must be very pleasant on cool and rainy days. True story: the owner literally saved a cat from certain death, and today he is doing wonderfully, he is watching the surroundings of the restaurant, and he is cute!! In summary, an address to discover, for the kindness of the team and the taste quality of the dishes, all at a fairly reasonable price. So thank you to the kitchens, the waitress, and the boss!

Excellent boneless fried carp, the children loved it and the adults too, the welcoming staff and the owner doesn't reveal her secrets. Thanks see you soon. Mauritius
