We happened to be driving in Schüpbach last night. We actually just wanted to drink an espresso and then drive on. Then the hostess came to our table and we immediately asked for the menu. The lady is so friendly and in a good mood that we felt like eating something. For the first time we received an amuse bouche, meat croquettes, very tasty. Thanks. Now the salad was like grandmother's, but of course at the level of very good cuisine. The main meals, breaded schnitzel and pork steak with herb butter, old school and some of the best we've eaten in years! If you cook simple things well, you can cook, in my opinion. The dessert, if it hadn't said Fisco on the menu, we would have immediately declared it homemade. The coffee is great, the Feldschlösschen is served cold, with nice foam in the tulip! After the main course, the owner and chef came to all the tables on the sunny terrace and asked if everything was okay. My only regret is that it was 32 years ago that I was last in this wonderful Emmental restaurant. At that time we gave a concert in the attic with around 200 spectators. I recommend this restaurant to everyone who is looking for good food, simple but refined country cuisine. People who like nice service and friendly guests and a wonderfully sunny terrace. And in terms of price, you can't beat it. Many thanks to the hosts, Mr. and Mrs. Wälti.

Our lunch was absolutely perfect. Very prompt, polite service. Price performance top. Wonderfully fine food and good portions. Ketchup was brought without asking. Homemade braids were even brought. When we asked whether there were wasps while we were sitting outside, the waitress brought us a table fan that drives away insects. The chef personally came to the tables. Highly recommended, we'll be back!
