Disappointing Breakfast Experience We stayed at the hotel for one night. Our room had a beautiful view of nature and the nearby waterfall, and the bed was comfortable. The hotel manager was also kind and welcoming, which we truly appreciated. In that regard, we have no complaints. However, when a room is advertised as including breakfast, it should be satisfying and thoughtfully prepared. The breakfast was extremely limited. There was only butter, one type of cheese, three types of cold cuts, jam, a few fruit yogurts, and bread. When we asked if there were any eggs, the answer was simply "no." In such a touristic area, at the very least, basic and universal options like eggs or croissants should be offered. These items are inexpensive, but they make a big difference in guest satisfaction. Unfortunately, this was the weakest breakfast we’ve experienced in all our hotel stays so far. We had to stop at the nearest market after check-out just to get something to eat. In the end, we wondered why we paid for breakfast at all.

It was SO clean, nice and simple breakfast before our morning hike of Richenbach falls. A wonderful and economical choice

Travelling to visit Reichenbach Falls, we stopped for food and asked if they had a room available, not expecting them to, given how many cars were parked outside. They did, though—hooray! We may have gotten the last one. It isn't big but it's clean and the bed is comfortable. We went downstairs and had dinner—one of the best meals we've had since we arrived in Switzerland. Quite a few vegetarian options, friendly staff, and good drink/dessert options. And let's talk about the view—we just got back to our room after dinner (Sherlock fans, take note—it was room #5) and we realized we have a direct view of Reichenbach Falls from our window! It's not super close, but it's lit up like a beacon at night so you can't mistake it for anything else. They don't mention anywhere that this is the case so it was a nice surprise. The room price includes a pass for free public transport while we're here, as well as breakfast in the morning. The price per night was lower than other places we've stayed. We are very pleased and feel lucky that they were able to accommodate us on short notice. The building looks quaint on the outside but the inside is modernized and well appointed. Don't let the old reviews dissuade you from staying at this charming inn. If we didn't have to be elsewhere tomorrow night, we would stay longer and hike. The surroundings are simply gorgeous. I can not think of a single thing to say in the negative about our experience, so 5 stars it is.
