Brasserie Anker : Rawilstrasse 2, 3775 Lenk

We had Christmas Eve dinner and it was absolutely delicious. There was a local group at the bar which added great atmosphere. The specials were absolutely delicious: a mountain herb soup and marrow dish. The salads were well constructed and farm fresh. L’entrecot was superb as was the pate. First rate food and service. Can’t miss, great spot it Lenk.

My friend and I came for dinner a week or so ago. The stressed waitress rolled her eyes dismissively as we declined drinks and we went straight to mains. It was nice food probably pre-prepared (by a chef?) who was probably absent too there and then. I wonder if the waitress re-heats some of the food in microwave? I liked my ox tail btw. Yum. My friend liked his dish too. Yet - I had Catalan custard which was fridge temperature and basically just a sloppy mess. Yuck.

The reviews don’t match the reality we experienced. The staff (yes, those weirdly directly referenced in other reviews) were consistently charming and extremely friendly even though we arrived with four tired children in tow. Food and wine were both really good with a buzzy but relaxed atmosphere. This is so different to the occasional very negative reviews that I wonder whether the reviewers have a problem here rather than the restaurant.
