Unfortunately, only one star for the friendly service. The fries were soggy. The plates weren't properly preheated, and the vegetables were already served cold. Everything was very garlicky. The bruschetta bread slices weren't toasted and varied in thickness. The arugula had wilted pieces, and the wait for food was too long with only two tables occupied. The schnitzel was very greasy, and the menu, although provisional, was full of mistakes. The owner is new and has only been open for two weeks. He should find a good chef and develop a professional external image. I hope he improves over time.
Good start! It's great that the Pöschtli in Rüttenen is open again! We had pasta and pizza and loved both. The service still has potential; there were still a lot of idle times, and the wait was rather long. The laminated menus don't do justice to the food.
A strong new start with minor teething issues After a hiatus of over two years, Restaurant Post has reopened under new management. My visit left a positive overall impression, although there are still a few points that could be improved. The food: The kitchen impressed with classic dishes that were almost consistently of a high standard in terms of taste. The cordon bleu was wonderfully crispy and juicy, the hot stone delighted with tender meat and delicate sauces, and the Zurich schnitzel was a perfect combination – tender meat in a creamy sauce, accompanied by crispy rösti. A minor quibble with the pizza: The pizza left an unexpectedly sweet aftertaste that didn't quite fit with the overall experience. Whether it was due to the tomato sauce or the dough was hard to say, but the taste was irritating. I hope some adjustments will be made here, as the other dishes left a very good impression. Service – attentive, but not yet perfect: The service was friendly and attentive, but the timing wasn't quite right. There were four of us at the table, and while two people received their food early, the hot stone didn't arrive for 15 minutes. This meant that not everyone could eat at the same time – an issue that will surely improve with a little more practice. Menu with potential for improvement: The menu could use a final proofreading. Some wording seemed rough, and a more consistent structure would improve readability. This would be a small but effective step to round out the positive overall impression. Dessert and wine selection: The dessert selection is currently limited to standard Mister Cool products – a little more creativity and in-house production would be desirable here. The wine selection could also be expanded somewhat, especially with regional specialties that would stylishly complement the culinary offerings. Conclusion: Restaurant Post is on the right track after its reopening. The cuisine is already impressively high quality, while the service, the menu, and individual dishes – like the pizza – still need some fine-tuning. I'm giving it 5 stars because the restaurant shows a lot of potential after only two days of operation. The minor weaknesses are understandable and will surely be ironed out soon. I'm looking forward to my next visit and am excited to see how the restaurant develops!
