The food was good, with high-quality fish and well-prepared dishes. Service was attentive and friendly, contributing positively to the overall experience. However, the prices are very high compared to what is offered. The atmosphere of the restaurant doesn’t quite match the premium pricing, making the overall experience feel somewhat unbalanced. While the meal was enjoyable, the value for money could be improved.
I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant Kakinuma in Eaux-Vives neighborhood in Geneva, Switzerland. We had an excellent dinner at this sushi restaurant! The meal started with seared eel (served on rice with a flavorful soy sauce and some boiled vegetables)—absolutely delicious. Then came a selection of sushi, both seared and raw, all generously portioned and expertly prepared with the freshest fish. The tempura selection, featuring shrimp and vegetables, was also fantastic—crispy and light. For dessert, we enjoyed a crème brûlée with chestnut and a lovely biscuit—a delightful surprise as desserts like this aren’t often found in Japanese restaurants. The service was friendly and efficient, and the interior, while simple, was cozy and ideal for conversations. Overall, a wonderful experience. Highly recommend!
We took literally everything except for the tempura and everything was really good. Rice was light and non invasive at all vs the fish that was the king. Fast service also on a busy lunch. Well done!
