Very good and friendly service. Free parking. Good food.

Five of us went to the Sternen today to have lunch. It's close to my husband's place of work and the restaurant looks nice from the outside. We were able to order after about 10 minutes of waiting... The service was always very friendly and tried hard, which is really worth its weight in gold in this restaurant. We ordered 3x menu sausage cheese salad with french fries, although only my husband ordered soup. Cost 17.- each My daughter ordered nuggets with fries and I ordered a mixed salad. 8.- each After 40 minutes of waiting, I reminded the kitchen that we wanted to eat REALLY slowly because my husband had to go back to work. Shortly afterwards all the plates came together. The sausage cheese salad was ok, fries ok, there were lots of nuggets, but they were a bit dry due to the long frying. My salad was a challenge... the coleslaw tasted really good , some of the green lettuce already had brown or rotten spots and the carrot salad was simply no longer edible. Normally I don't spit things into the napkin, but this salad was clearly already rancid. So I went to the kitchen with the plate... Salad was replaced with something else that couldn't be defined and was already dry . The celery salad was no longer fresh either and I didn't dare eat more than a small bite of it. When we billed we weren't charged for the drinks because we had to wait so long. That was all. I would have wished that the boss had come to our table instead of sitting a few meters further ahead at the regulars' table. I would also have liked a conversation and that the salad hadn't been charged. In the end I couldn't eat anything except the tomato and the coleslaw! There is still a lot of room for improvement in terms of ambience and cleanliness. You can see the decoration in the picture, the floor outside was a little too unclean, there were cobwebs and lots of dead insects at the window on the way to the toilet and the toilet itself could really use some renovation and not just stuck with brown scotch tape. All in all, the best thing about the restaurant is the service.
