Café Dolce Sosta, Jacqueline Hafner, Baselstrasse 1, 4125 Riehen

The Café Dolce Sosta in Riehen offers a charming and cozy atmosphere that immediately invites you to linger. The cappuccino was perfectly prepared and of high quality. The choice of food was tempting and the homemade cake was delicious. The service was friendly and attentive. Overall, a successful visit and a place I would happily visit again.

As others have said, it is wonderful to have this cafe open again. We came for an early cappuccino and croissant. Both were excellent. The people are friendly, the atmosphere is cozy, and the food is good. We will return often.

I was looking forward to the reopening of this cafe as I was very fond of and frequently visited the previous two establishments at the same location. Unfortunately I am beyond disappointed of this new cafe on the different services they offer depending on the customers. On my last visit they had an electricity blackout during lunch so we could not order any cooked nor cold food . Things happen and this is beyond their control so I don’t blame them at all. So we decided to order cakes instead after seeing the customer sat next to me ordered. The cake arrived and the portion was three times smaller than the cake my neighbor customer had. I asked the waitress why and she simply shrugged me off and said I don’t know and left. I approached another waitress who said she did not serve my table and can’t help me and signal my table’s waitress will come. I stood up and brought the cake and showed it to her. She realized how small the cake was, she apologized and brought me another one. I do believe this is not a deliberate act of my waitress but the way how she shrugged me off is unacceptable. I hope the cafe can address and train their staff better. Since we were not able to have a proper lunch last time, I visited the cafe again today hoping to have lunch. There were 4 waitresses serving other customers and one lady going table by table to greet and talk to the customers. I waited for 15 mins and no one come to give me a menu nor ask me anything while all other tables were being served and greeted. I stood up and told one of the waitresses. She apologized but my mood of eating there is gone. So I left and went to Brandli instead and will not return to this cafe anymore after two unpleasant experiences.
