The Traube, located in a Bernese farmhouse built in 1856, is a house steeped in history. Simply beautiful; there were three of us. We treated ourselves to various salads. FYI, all dishes, salads, and bacon strips are also available in small portions. I enjoyed a fresh lamb's lettuce with egg, white mushrooms, and bacon strips; it was truly delicious and not drowned in sauce. I can say the same about the mixed and green dishes my neighbor had. It's currently game season. The wild boar entrécôte I ordered was cooked pink as requested and served with a hollandaise sauce flavored with cranberries. It came with fried spaetzle and Brussels sprouts. The venison schnitzel my neighbor had was tender and cooked to perfection and served with the same side dishes, with a mushroom sauce rounding it all off. The venison strips were served with a creamy mushroom sauce. The desserts are truly something special; the Kemmeribodenbad Merengue with whipped cream and ice cream is a dish in itself. Simply wonderful. This was our first time at the Traube, but we'll definitely be back. It's simply homey in this old farmhouse, and the staff and owner are top-notch.
