Finally another “Vegan Week” in Dominik Wachter’s food bar - and in this royal discipline of culinary art, one culinary masterpiece followed another last night! The six courses were creatively composed, with the finest flavor surprises and aesthetically enchanting each time, and all courses were of the same high standard throughout (which is not always the case with vegetarian/vegan star cuisine)! The service is warm and attentive, and always extremely professional. You will feel comfortable for hours in the well-styled location with the round “bar table”. Fine dining at its best! (The name food bar is certainly appropriate, but given the high level of cuisine and equipment, it sounds as modest as if you were calling Lake Chiemsee a bathing pond...) A big thank you for a perfect evening! Update April 2025: In addition to the usual menu, Dominik Wachter is also offering “Vegan Weeks” this spring and is creating true highlights of plant-based cuisine during this time. Here, not only are compositions made with a passion for experimentation, the dishes are also prepared with a fine, almost artistic sense. You can literally feel the respect for each plant and its aromas, as well as the love for delicate decorative plant details, such as tiny Gundermann flowers. For me, vegan conjures have been made many times, even at star level - but Dominik Wachter far surpasses all other experiences in this special and challenging culinary art with every visit!
The ambiance is truly beautiful – the dim lighting and appropriate music create a pleasant atmosphere. The service was extremely attentive and friendly, and each course was explained in detail. The dishes impress with their regionality, attractive presentation, and exceptional flavors. The ingredients harmonize perfectly. I prefer sitting at a table to a bar, but that's easily overlooked. Overall, it was a wonderful and entertaining evening!
The onion is the logo of one of the best restaurants in the Chiemgau region. Dominik Wachter founded the "Wachter Foodbar" and was awarded a Michelin star within a short time, and most recently, three Black Toques by Gault&Millau. His four-, five-, or six-course menus focus on regional ingredients from the Chiemgau region, refined with Asian touches and refreshing citrus aromas. The star chef has a friendly and uncomplicated demeanor. Wearing a baseball cap and a friendly smile, he serves guests the various courses, inspiring a sense of enjoyment. Visitors also learn that the fish on the regularly changing menu comes from a fisherman from Fraueninsel.
