Grotto Raffael, with its 150 year history, is one of the oldest and most traditional grotti in Ticino, still serving authentic local dishes. This was my second visit and once again, a real treat. The risotto, polenta, steaks, and that genuine old world charm are all still there. The relaxed atmosphere, with open seating under huge trees, keeps it simple and special. Altogether, amazing. Ci vediamo di nuovo!
An unforgettable dining experience at Grotto Raffael in Ticino! We had an incredible time at Grotto Raffael, one of the best traditional restaurants in Ticino for authentic Swiss-Italian cuisine. The gnocchi al burro e salvia were absolutely delicious – soft, handmade, and perfectly balanced with the sage butter. The veal tongue was tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection – a true local delicacy. The local Ticino Merlot wine selection was a highlight – well-curated and perfect with the regional dishes. Great to see local wines being celebrated! Our kids loved the family-friendly atmosphere, especially the playground, which allowed us to enjoy a relaxed meal while they had fun. The staff was welcoming and helpful, making this a top-notch family dining experience in Ticino. Highly recommend Grotto Raffael for anyone looking for authentic Ticinese food, great local wines, and a place where both adults and kids feel at home. A true hidden gem in the region!
Such a great Restaurant! Very atmospheric outdoor seating under trees and next to the rocks. Absolutely friendly staff, which can speak several languages. I don't even need to talk about the meals, it was just so delicious. Especially the Risotto - you need to try that, seriously. There was also some live Jazz music, which made the stay even more comfortable.
