Restaurant Chalet Suisse : Rte du Signal 40, 1018 Lausanne

We went on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was not very busy but we still had reservation just in case. The staff was very attentive and had great recommendations. We went to try the fondue moitie-moitie even though it wasn’t that cold that afternoon. It was great and it instantly became our favourite. We also had emince de veau a la zurichoise which was veal meat in mushroom sauce served with fried shaved potatoes and salad with eggplants, tomatoes and bell peppers. We enjoyed this as well. For dessert, we had tarte a la raisinee which was made with caramelized apples and apricots. We loved this so much and were glad we didn’t order the meringue which was recommended first. Over-all great experience, great food, ambiance and staff!

Chalet Suisse is an absolute gem! From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable – warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The short walk up to the restaurant only added to the experience, with each step revealing more of the breathtaking mountain views. We were lucky enough to catch the sunset, and it was truly to die for – golden hues melting into the peaks, creating a picture-perfect moment. The setting is cosy, authentic, and elevated both literally and figuratively. A must-visit for anyone who loves good food, great service, and unforgettable views.

Nice place for a traditional Fondue moitie-moitie. They provide unlimited free bread and free water. Price was on the higher end at 27 CHF per person. The taste was precious and very large portion for two person (230 grams per person). Location is very calm and quiet, close to the L’Hermitage park. Great option!
