We just had drinks. It was very nice.
Our culinary evening at the Malteserkreuz exceeded all expectations! The evening began with a charming surprise – a finely balanced welcome cocktail from the chef. The Swiss beef entrecôte (cooked medium-rare) was an absolute delight: juicy, buttery tender, and perfectly seasoned. It was served with fresh white and green asparagus and a homemade hollandaise sauce that delighted with its creamy lightness. The crispy roasted new potatoes rounded off the dish masterfully. The red wine Ada Nada Barbera d'Alba D.O.C. "d'Pierin" 2022, recommended by the waitress, proved to be the perfect choice: with its vibrant fruitiness and elegant structure, it harmonized beautifully with the robust beef without overpowering the asparagus. The dessert – double crème glace with mascarpone cream and fresh strawberries – was a dreamy finale: creamy, fresh, and perfectly balanced. The exceptionally friendly and competent service deserves special mention. Our young waitress guided us through the evening with great expertise and created a completely relaxed atmosphere. The Malteserkreuz impresses across the board – from the creative cuisine to the excellent wine selection to the impeccable service. A culinary experience you won't forget! We're already looking forward to our next visit. P.S.: You should try the Ada Nada Barbera 2022.
The food was delicious and the value for money was definitely right. Guests are warmly welcomed in this cozy Valais restaurant. The service is friendly, and they often ask if the food tastes good and if everything is okay. Leftovers can be packed up and taken away.
