We had lunch in this restaurant a Friday end of May. It's an offspring of an old mill, processing nuts from the region and pressing oil, products that are for sale in the adjacent shop. The restaurant opened 2 years ago and serves fresh local products including wild fish from lake Geneva. Today we had whitefish served with potatoes mashed with their locally produced oil and vegetables in season. The menu is rather restricted but well composed and changes regularly. The list of wine by the glass is unusually rich with a good choice from local wine makers. The decoration is modern, simple but elegant and the toilets impeccably clean. They advertise monthly evening theme specials that are culinarily interesting. And finally, the staff is efficiently discrete and you can even crack a joke or two with your waitress. Overall a surprisingly good experience for a restaurant in the middle of nowhere...
I went to the Bistrot with my family and we were thrilled. The place is really beautiful: elegant, with attention to detail and welcoming, just outside the center but very easy to reach. The service was impeccable from the start. They introduced us to the menu with passion, describing the dishes in an engaging way. We chose the Crudo de seriole and the Capocollo de Martina Franca et Melon: the amberjack was a sensory discovery, a real delight for the palate. For the first course, Spaghetti Chitarra maison sauce aux trois tomates: homemade pasta, perfectly cooked, authentic and harmonious flavors. But the real surprise came with the second course: Entrecôte de bœuf Ojo de Agua, an extraordinary, tender and tasty meat, accompanied by Broccoli bimi, a broccoli mousse and a miso and peanut cream that together create an explosion of flavor that is simply memorable. And finally the desserts, the real stars, Granité Pastèque and Arlette aux fruits rouges. Original, balanced, incredibly good. Perhaps the best desserts I have ever tasted in a restaurant. In short: starred restaurant dishes, generous portions, clear and refined flavors, warm service and impeccable ambiance. Thank you for this wonderful experience… I can't wait to come back!
What an evening! A warm welcome, service and dishes whose presentation and quality are on par with the best, but with a spirit of simple service that is much appreciated. Thank you very much.
