Nestled at the top of the Morgins lift in Portes du Soleil, La Foilleuse offers a delightful dining experience with stunning mountain views, making it a must-visit spot for anyone hitting the slopes. My recent visit with a group of 11 friends proved why this restaurant is a popular choice among skiers and snowboarders looking for a quality meal on the mountain. First and foremost, I highly recommend making a reservation, especially for lunch, as La Foilleuse can fill up quickly due to its prime location and reputation. The space itself is nicely arranged, providing a comfortable and inviting atmosphere to relax and refuel after a morning on the slopes. The menu at La Foilleuse is diverse, catering to a variety of tastes with a selection of well-prepared dishes. Our group ordered an array of plates, from hearty entrees to lighter fare, and almost everything was delightful. The standout dish was undoubtedly the foie gras, which I suggest ordering for the table; it’s rich, decadent, and perfectly complements the alpine setting. The only slight disappointment was the soup of the day, which unfortunately lacked seasoning and depth of flavor. Service at the restaurant was both lovely and efficient. Despite our large group and the busy lunch rush, the staff managed to be attentive and quick, ensuring our glasses were never empty and our needs promptly met. For those looking for a quicker, more budget-friendly option, La Foilleuse also offers a cafeteria side where you can grab plates to go. This flexibility makes it an excellent choice for skiers who might want to eat on their own schedule without sacrificing the quality of their meal. Priced in Swiss Francs, the restaurant is a bit pricier compared to others in the area, but given the quality of food, service, and the unbeatable location, it’s well worth the expense. I definitely recommend La Foilleuse as a great spot to gather with friends or family for a delicious meal before continuing your adventures in Portes du Soleil. It’s a solid 4 out of 5 stars for me, and I look forward to returning on my next trip to Morzine!
La Foilleuse Restaurant and Café is a decent spot for a quick meal with a stunning view over the mountain slopes. The food is comforting and satisfying, making it a nice place to refuel during a day of skiing or hiking. However, it tends to get very busy during the season, often resulting in long queues and limited seating, which can detract from the overall experience.
For CHF 12, the quiche aperitif was a bit small. The soup was good and filling.
