A hotel with a lot of charm – but unfortunately with weaknesses in service. The hotel itself is a true architectural gem. Every corner exudes history, the character of the building is impressive and lovingly staged – compliments to the architect, who clearly put his heart and soul into it. Unfortunately, the staff couldn't quite live up to this positive impression. The reception seemed rather cold and matter-of-fact – a shame, because after 400 kilometers on a motorcycle, you appreciate a friendly welcome. The surprise that the in-house restaurant was closed wasn't exactly a highlight either. A note when booking or checking in would have been helpful – so the only option was to head back to the village. The highlight, however, was the "warm shower," which was more in the "Alpine stream in spring" temperature range. My comment at checkout was met with a rather sober response – no apology, no regrets. And the breakfast experience? A friend spontaneously sat down and had two coffees and a croissant – whereupon the manager wanted to charge the full price for breakfast. Goodwill doesn't work. Conclusion: A beautiful hotel with a lot of potential, but the service and hospitality unfortunately lag far behind the ambiance. At CHF 150 per single room, you'd expect a bit more warmth – and hot water. The lady at breakfast saved the day a bit – she absolutely loves her job 👍
