The new star in Schaffhausen's gastronomic sky Within the old walls of a monastery, Lorenz Messora, also owner of the "Sommerlust" restaurant, known far beyond the region's borders, has established a new gastronomic highlight. Located in the heart of the historic old town, the restaurant captivates guests at first glance with its exquisite and stylish feel-good ambiance. In fine weather, the spacious courtyard enchants guests and invites them to linger, framed by ancient walls. The restaurant itself is an interesting mix of a restaurant with fine cuisine, an exquisite bar, and a club with a live DJ, a concept that is unique in the region. The service is strikingly unobtrusive, attentive, competent, and very friendly, while, thankfully, a casual atmosphere is maintained. The dishes can be described simply: all of them a treat, both for the taste buds and the eyes. A very appealing presentation and an even more appealing culinary experience, and the prices aren't exorbitant, but rather commensurate with the quality of the food offered. It's nice to see that such a well-known restaurateur dares to offer such a concept in our somewhat sleepy little town. Once you've been here, you'll be happy to return anytime.
We had lunch here on a sunny Friday. We had a crisp set salad, excellent pasta, and a perfectly creamy mushroom risotto. The service was extremely attentive and warm. We'd be happy to come back.
