Là-Haut, Rue du Village 21, 1803 Chardonne

Pleasantly decorated eatery overlooking the lake and the main road. We had a light lunch on their balcony where you are indeed easily disturbed by guests that smoke or wear a heavy perfume as well as by the passing traffic. Food was fine but not as spectacular as we had expected from reading previous reviewers. Service is perfect and choice of local wines by the glass is excellent. There is ample parking behind and in the front of the building.

Wow! Did not expect to find such a sophisticated, high-end meal up in the little town of Chardonne - but the trip was well worth it. We had the multi-course tasting menu with each plate artfully presented and equally delicious. The service was impeccable. Overall it was an expensive, but awesome experience. We'll be thinking of this meal for a long, long time. The ONLY complaint was after we were seated, our initial server asked if we wanted some Prosecco or Chardonnay to start; implying the drink was part of the meal, like a liquid amuse-bouche. In effect, they tricked us into spending an extra $20 each - extremely unnecessary considering we were already spending about $200 per person. Even with that unpleasant surprise, still giving this place 5 stars.

Fantastic view, service, and food. I do recommend the "discovery menu", with 5 dishes. With wine combo it is chf190 per person - not cheap but totally worth it!
