Mixed feelings to be honest. The food was good and the wine selection is even better than expected, but the hotel in general was quite noisy. The room (my room at least) was sub par. The shower head is broken (you have to hold it with one hand at all times), the closet door wouldn't stay closed, the door to the toilet gets stuck on the carpet, the bed is old, and it is almost impossible to lock the door unless you use force and pull the door upwards. The crew is friendly though, and it is sort of a quaint place (not in a bad way), but the place needs a modern boost.

A real treat in the form of a 4-course menu with a wonderfully matching wine recommendation in the middle of Thursday lunchtime. It's not that easy to get that spontaneously in sleepy Churfranken. To start with, there was a wonderful piece of foie gras embedded in a tasty jelly and a warm brioche on the side! A bit like a short trip to France. The scallops with the lobster cream soup were also very finely balanced. I have rarely eaten such well-prepared asparagus; the hollandaise sauce is still a bit foamy and creamy, but not too overpowering to allow the asparagus to take precedence. The service is also very courteous and not intrusive. Thank you very much for the wonderful menu, we were completely thrilled and are already looking forward to the next time!
