Everything fits together here! A wonderful concept... a unique ambiance... very pleasant, attentive service... and Peter Wirbel is a fantastic chef... very personable and authentic. Are you looking for a unique escape from everyday life? Midi is the right place for you!
Our first visit to a star restaurant and it was really successful. The service was top notch. We had the 6 course menu, which ended up being a total of 12 courses. So if you think you won't get full from the small portions, you're wrong. Not everything was to our taste, but I think that's normal. That does NOT mean it tasted bad! Not everyone likes everything. Special requests were addressed without hesitation. Super! The chef came to our table again at the end and asked us how we liked the evening. In total we were there for 4 hours. So bring your time Can highly recommend it!
We went to Midi in Rohrbach for the Easter menu on Easter Sunday. A great menu that enchants the senses. Our meal began with an amuse-bouche that lived up to its name: heaven and earth, a true greeting from heaven. The subtle flavors and perfect texture created anticipation for what was to come. The next revelation was the char. Cooked to perfection, it was juicy and tender, accompanied by delicate nuances that underlined its freshness. A truly light and elegant walk. The homemade tortellini, filled with an aromatic mushroom composition made from regional mushrooms, was a poem. The silky pasta encased an earthy filling that was perfectly accentuated by arugula and pine nuts. Here the chef's craftsmanship was once again impressively demonstrated. The “two kinds of lamb” was a highlight of the menu. Both the perfectly pink fried lamb fillet and the lamb in filo pastry melted in the mouth and revealed the high quality of the product. The accompanying side dishes harmonized wonderfully with the intense taste of the lamb. In my opinion, beetroot fits better in autumn... The sweet finale was a strawberry-rhubarb tart, which offered a wonderful balance between the sweetness of the strawberries and the pleasant acidity of the rhubarb. The creamy vanilla ice cream and the refreshing woodruff element rounded off this dessert perfectly. Overall, this menu was a feast for the senses. Each course was a small work of art, with the focus on high-quality ingredients, precise preparation and the harmonious composition of flavors. Accompanied by great wines and perfect service, Peter Sehr and his great team gave us another unforgettable culinary experience! An absolute must for every foodie!
