Restaurant zur Brücke : Thurbruggstrasse 1, 9215 Schönenberg an der Thur

By chance I arrived with Rico, my colleague, at this Restaurant! Super nice and pleasant staff, Swiss beer of perfect quality. We will surely return.

Honest assessment after the change of tenant on March 8, 2025: As already mentioned in other comments, the restaurant is under new management. I knew it from before and was excited to see the changes. The cuisine now has a distinctly Italian influence – a clear departure from the previous, traditional approach. Italian music plays in the background, while the decor is more reminiscent of a Swiss inn. This strikes me as somewhat incongruous and unbalanced in the overall picture. The service was friendly and attentive, but seemed rather reserved and unmotivated. The order was taken without any problems, and the espresso offered at the end was a nice touch. My dish – tagliatelle with salmon and spinach in a cream sauce – was mediocre. The pasta was well cooked, but the sauce was very mild. A little more seasoning and a splash of white wine would have done it good. The salmon was well-cooked on the outside, but unfortunately dry on the inside. The spinach was very bland in flavor. For me, the restaurant has lost some of its appeal under the new management, which is why I wouldn't recommend it at this point. While there are certainly worse restaurants, the quality is rather average. Hence a fair rating of 3 stars.

We are having lunch with a hiking group of 22 participants. Participants were able to choose between 5 menus in the morning. Service was very prompt and friendly, the kitchen prepared the desired menus in a short time. All menus were to the complete satisfaction of all participants. The restaurant can be recommended for groups.
