Avoid! Went with my family while on holiday. I get the impression that this is a place for brewery workers and locals. Didn’t seem busy, we tried to sit at a table, but were directed to sit on a not very nice table in a dingy corner, lots of horrible flies - the photo is of the ones I managed to squat right next to me while just waiting for my meal - really horrible, table was dirty too. Told seconds before our food arrived that they only take cash (luckily I had just enough to cover our order!). Food and beer was fine, but (as usual for Switzerland) pricey for what is was. Shame as bars next to a brewery are usually pretty good and a showcase for the beers. Not recommended.

After visiting Harder Kulm we went back to our hotel. The reception suggested to have dinner at Restaurant Brauistübli, a local restaurant just a 3 minutes walk away. The restaurant was really simple, resembled a kind of a Swiss cottage. The decoration was fun, lots of wood everywhere, witch figurines and some Easter bunnies on the tables. That was probably since Easter had just passed. Overall, it was exactly what we wanted. An authentic and local Swiss restaurant for a delicious cheese fondue outside from the tourist crowd. The portion was delicious and just right for two people. We tried some Swiss wine, apparently one of the best European wines but made only for locals. We also tried the local beer, in hindsight, very similar to German beer, one style in a white, blonde and dark format. The bill added up to $52 CAD for two. It was succulent and well deserved cheese fondue after a full day of travel and new adventures. It was picture perfect, as it started to snow outside. Prior to our arrival we were told it was much warmer and the snow was melting. Now imagine, a chilly evening with a nice cheese fondue, Swiss beer and wine. Finally, a great and friendly service, who was really helpful to understand us and help us out in English. Our Ratings Serge: 5 Eli: 5 Recommend: Yes, Great and friendly service, good ambience and delicious cheese fondue.

Super bad experience here. I ordered their steak special which was supposed to be farm to table and it came over cooked. I sent it back and they all ate a bite and said it was fine and insisted I pay for it when I did not have a single bite. I simply cut into it and it was clearly over cooked. See the photo of the steak after they all took a bite to taste and even said you are welcome to finish the rest as it is good. This is truly shocking! They then called the police on me as they refused to take the steak off my bill despite the fact the rest of my family of 4 ordered food and beer. Really bad customer service. Avoid at all cost.
