Restaurant Hess'coffier, Dorfstrasse 50, 6390 Engelberg

This was our final dinner during a week stay over Christmas 23. We came with our 2 daughters & were looking forward to the French style dinner. The restaurant is split between Asian on 1 side & French on the other. We were the only people in the French side that evening & just 1 gentleman looking after both sides - which is fine & makes sense. A little quiet environment but also fine. We selected our dishes which are based on classic French style - with a plentiful wine list which we also selected to go with our dinner. Maybe we were over expecting - but feel the food did not quite hit the level they were aspiring to ... Nothing at all wrong but also nothing noteworthy. The chef came out to greet us which was a nice touch also. A little pricey we feel for the level received but we still enjoyed the dinner.

Very tasty and nice food with an elegant ambience. Everyone was extremely cheerful and polite . I highly recommend, and I will definitely come again.

It can all be said in one word. UNDERSTAFFED. Gave us the wrong menu then disappeared for 30 min never to be seen egain. Wen he finally came he forgott about us and completely ignored us. It they had more staff it would be lovely. Then came the bill. It was realy expensive.
