The restaurant is located in the building opposite the hotel that was rebuilt after the fire. The cuisine is excellent with very well-crafted, fresh dishes using very good quality ingredients. The service is attentive, very friendly and competent. Very good wine selection and recommendations to accompany the meal. The view of the Black Forest through large panoramic windows is also very beautiful. As a Traube Tonbach hotel guest, the restaurant can also be used as an alternative to the normal hotel restaurant, which I would recommend, as the ambience and service quality are significantly better here, with a similar price/performance ratio.

I stopped by the new Schatzhauser for the first time today after a hike to the source of the Tonbach stream. The ambiance was very modern and elegant, but the gray tones took a bit of getting used to and didn't feel entirely homey to me. The service was very friendly, attentive, and, above all, well-trained – not always a given, even in fine dining. My meal was visually and tastefully outstanding – hence the five stars overall. And – although the portion size was perfectly adequate for me – I was offered a second helping. I've never experienced anything like that – amazing!
