Bistrot des reines : Rue du Village 27, 1874 Champéry

The best fondue that I have ever had across Switzerland, Germany, and Austria. We got the truffle fondue and the garlic fondue. They came with bread, and we asked for sliced meats and cournichons. To go with the fondue, we got a bottle of the blanc des reines. The texture was perfect, along with the seasoning. The one downside was that there was no way to control the heat of the flame, so the cheese burned on the bottom and bubbled a bit. Even with this, we had plenty of time to eat most of the fondue. Service was wonderful! Our waiter was very polite, and remembered my husband and sister in law from the last time they came. We came quite close to closing time (2pm), but we were able to eat until we were done. No rush at all. Atmosphere is warm and cozy like a mountain lodge, but also a bit formal. It was perfect for a smart casual lunch. I will be dreaming of this place for a while. It is not to be missed in Champery!

This bistro is a jewel for foodie like me and the husband. We had la Glareyarde for two (swiss hot pot, their specialty) with Swiss Gamay wine. This dish is enough for 2 people. The cuisine includes salad, gratin, beef, sauce for two plates and broth. We are so happy with high quality of beef from Switzerland, France and Ireland. The broth for hot pot is made of beef oxtail, tomato, celery and other vegetables. UMAMI!!! 美味。 We are in heaven.❤🇨🇭 This is a place we will come back again.

Pleasant setup and friendly service. Lunch is pretty good value for money. I regret the addition of cream in the sauce which rather annihilate the taste of the ingredients...
