Restaurant Sihlhalde, Sihlhaldenstrasse 70, 8136 Gattikon

Very accommodating! The chef made a delicious vegan menu for me at a group event, where everyone else had meat or fish. The decor is old-school and cozy, service was family-like. I hope there will be more vegan and vegetarian options in the future!

First visit at the Sihlhalde in Gattikon. We know the area quite a bit as we love take strolls there. A beautiful idyllic setting where you enjoy the terrazza in the summer and the cosy interior in winter. A beautiful old traditional Swiss house including kachelhofen. Sihlhalde Smolinsky, here we go: Pastinaque, summer truffles // Brasato ravioli, Périgord truffles, summer truffles // Sea bass, champagne sauce, // Venison loin, mushroom cream sauce, cranberries, chestnuts, spätzli // Cheese selection, plum chutney // Tarte Tatin, sour cream ice cream // Côte des nuits, Nuits-St-Georges, Latour, 2015 This restaurant keeps his indulgent promises, without pretentiousness, which makes their cuisine accessible to a broader group. And I strongly believe it’s intentional. The menu concept is very linear and clear, classic dishes made with focus on the taste and gourmandise. This is reflected also in the wine selection, clear, readable and lovely.

Beautiful building in a quiet place. Authentic stylish interior and service. Food really good, wines as well. Just missing the magic and that final touch to come back.
